Case Study: Schools of Ambition Programme

Client: Lanark Learning Community
Title: Schools of Ambition Programme

Project Overview:

Working within the Lanark Learning Community this year long initiative involved an innovative creative media project nursery, primary and secondary aged pupils. fps media delivered bespoke media training to pupils from Lanark Grammar School, 13 feeder primary schools and 1 nursery, empowering the young people to script, direct and produce their very own short films. Pupils from Lanark Grammar mentored pupils from the primary schools.

Following the project the pupils from Lanark Grammar School have now formed a stand alone ‘Schools of Ambition’ production crew. The crew now independently record school events, produce DVDs for the learning community and also peer educate younger pupils at primary level. The project links into the Scottish Executive’s ‘Schools of Ambition’ programme which seeks to raise the ambitions of schools, instil belief and ambition in pupils, extend their opportunities and transform their life chances.

An exciting experience, I enjoyed teaching the younger pupils and learning a lot along the way. I really enjoyed editing.
