‘Fast Forward’ is fps media’s second project delivered through the British’s Film Council’s First Light initiative. The project was developed to encourage filmmaking activities among young people and encourage inclusion and promote citizenship.

fps media personnel worked with four groups of young people from Bankhead Accommodated Unit, Drumpark School, Earnock High School (Deaf Unit) and Sanderson High School over a 3 month period. The young people received tuition on the various aspects of filmmaking and animation and then scripted, storyboarded and produced their very own short films.

The project ended on a high note with a premiere at The Vue Cinema, Hamilton which was attended by the young filmmakers along with their friends and families. ‘River City’ star Carmen Pieraccini who plays Kelly Marie Adams was also on hand to present the young stars with a commemorative DVD and certificate of achievement.

The creativity and quality of the 4 films produced through the ‘Fast Forward’ project is a real credit to all the hard work and enthusiasm of the young filmmakers. ‘A Day at the Races’ by Earnock High School (Deaf Unit) has already been selected for the highly acclaimed Co-operative Young Filmakers Festival in October 2005.

Before setting off for the Bradford Film Festival the filmmakers from Earnock posed outside the Vue cinema in Hamilton with copies of their Fast Forward DVDs.
